100 isnt hot, that is just getting slightly warm. 110 is where i start feeling kinda hot. 115 is tough and 120 plus is pretty unbearable. but the 8-9 months a year around the summer is very nice.

Tom, I wished a thousand times that I had a pit. I will never build another storage without a pit. I just spent an hour under the coach and could do so much more and so much better job if I had a 4' deep pit.
I spent alot of time pricing a pit. It got north of 15k and the county said I couldnt do it I let it go.

Well, one has to stay within the codes of the city and county. A pit here in Nacogdoches can be done, but then the cost is a factor. I can understand the wall could be fairly expensive. It is a lot cheaper than a lift and a whole lot less maintenance. I would have to think awhile on the 15 grand however.
And you enter into the realm of safety standards, proper ventilation, blah, blah, blah........
But it is sure nice not to have to squeeze and squirm around underneath the coach.
4 air jacks might be nice.
Just get in the Newell & leave during the 3-4 HOT months!
forest is right. IF they would have allowed it, then it wouldhave had to have drains, ventaliation etc.
the pit i bid was 50 feet long, 4 foot wide, 6 foot deep with steps at one end and heavy metal grating on top.
the 8x8x16 block wall that had footings, re inforced with rebar and solid grouted a pretty pricey, as were the grates.
i spent a ton of time on it after many of you emphatically said i should consider. maricopa county has very rigid vuilding coes and restrictions.
for instance i had to spend over $4k just for a drainage and grading plan including a topo map of the lot and have it all PE'd.
i know when steve b built his shop he didnt need any permits at all. and no inspections. here is not that way.

Wow, we don't have restrictions nearly that bad here in the swamp.
literally i live in the desert now, but phoenix is in maricopa county and they want their fees. part of their funding for the county i believe.

Well, guess it is better to lay there on out backs looking up. I always go to the local store that sells frigs and get one of their large boxes to lay on. It keeps me clean and the floor also. Keep good care of it and it will last for several years.
