The cold only hung on for about a week....feeling 100% better today. We are now in Savannah, GA, and will remain here through the St. Patrick's Day festivities this Saturday. Apparently they have a 200+ year St. Patty's Day tradition here, and quite the parade.

Spent 8 days courtesy parked about 40 miles south of Savannah....a great place to let my cold run its course.
Clarke, 29 yrs ago I marched in Savannah's St. Patrick's Parade with the 18th Airborne Unit out of Ft. Stewart. Many a great meal and drink was had that week! Enjoy the festivities and have a drink or two for me...
Erin go braugh!

Bill, we had a wonderful time at the parade....lasted over 5 hours this year! Walked over to Crystal Beer Parlor afterwards and had a few great brews, and one of the best Pastrami Ruebens I have ever had!!

We left Savannah March 23rd, and are now in Asheville, North Carolina for 4 days. We spent several months at, or near sea level, and today we climbed up to 2,400' elevation...we are near the Smokey Mountains. Staying on the banks of the French Broad River about 3 miles outside of Asheville. Life is good. Coach is running good.

I've been using the Howe's diesel additive that others have recommended and have noticed an increase in power, especially climbing today, as well as lower operating temperatures. Am definitely going to buy a few more half gallon bottles. Takes about half a bottle for 180 gallons.

We will leave here on Tuesday for Huntington, WV to visit Richard and Rhonda.....very excited about our upcoming visit with them. We'll take 3 days to get there by Thursday.
We arrived in Huntington, WV Thursday afternoon, and are staying at Robert Newlon Airpark RV Park....a block from Richard's work. As we pulled into Kyle Lane (the road into the park), a very narrow street.....just as Richard described, I saw Richard standing in front of his work....it was reassuring to see him there, because then I knew for sure we were on the right street! Enjoyed a lovely time with he and Rhonda last night.....Richard was the chef, and prepared a delicious meal for us. Looking forward to some hiking, and biking over the next few days. The cloud cover is burning off as I write....time to install my new King Electric PAW heater!
We had planned to be in Huntington, WV for about 4, or 5 days......that was before I came down with my second case of the flu in a little over a month. I started getting sick last Sunday, and by Monday I was one sick puppy. Today, Friday, is the first day I have had an appetite since Monday, and the first day I haven't been blowing my nose, or coughing. We have decided to stay put through Monday morning. Richard and Rhonda have been wonderful hosts, and we have had a great time getting to know them both better. We went on a 7.2 mile hike with them last Saturday at Carter Caves Resort State Park in Kentucky. Rhonda wrote a great blog post about our adventure which you can read here.

On Sunday Richard and I spent time working on the coach, and in the afternoon he took me on a 15 mile mountain bike ride on a local trail, then we went out to a Chinese restaurant for Tyler's 22nd birthday.

From here we head toward Washington D.C.
Clarke, I want to share something that my Grandmother told me..........3 Days Coming.................3 Days Staying ....................and 3 days Leaving. Anything else would start the cycle over.....good luck................!
i would add to steves grandma something she didnt know at the time. "and 3 days having richard fix stuff for me"

We've been in the Washington D.C. area since last Wednesday....staying at Greenbelt Park about 12 miles from the Capitol. This is a National Park so we stay for 1/2 price at $8/day.....not bad. We are in the middle of an urban forest....feels like we are 100 miles from anywhere, but in fact we are only 2.5 miles from services......that's how far it is to the park gate from our site. We'll be moving on May 1st....another week of site seeing.

Lots of tax dollar sights there to SEE. I've enjoyed trips there..
Having fun, take care...

Arrived at IMS (Indianapolis Motor Speedway) today for our 3 week work gig. Staying in a grass field just on the north side of the Speedway with 30 amps of power....no water, or sewer, but they do have a "honey wagon" that comes around once a week, and there is a water faucet close by that we can run a hose over to refill when needed. We'll be working Gate #2 in customer service.

We had a great time in Washington D.C., and just spent 6 days traveling 579 miles here. We did spend two days in Hagerstwon, PA so we could drive the car up to Gettysburg National Battlefield. We spent 6 hours touring the 6,000 acre park, then drove home and watched the entire 234 minute Gettysburg move Ted Turner made back in the early 90's.

Before we know it we will be heading to Spearfish, SD for the rally!
