tom

PS I hope that your Dad is OK, we can have that beer later
Matt,

Hope that your Dad is o.k. Keep us informed.
Not to give the wrong impression, My Dad is well. Just 85 years old. My last conversation with him, which is about every three to four days. He said he was getting tired!! Not a comment normally heard from him. But just today he headed out the the hunting camp for a few days with his younger brother (77) so I think all is well. By the way Steve I do owe you a beer or three. It will happen!! Once again I can not express enough how well my coach performed.....

thanks everyone....

Clark, that was drive time...
We are down to 10 days of work left at Amazon before we head south to Cedar Key, FL for a month. Hard to believe we've been here 9 weeks now, but has been nice watching our bank account grow week by week. The wet season as settled in here in Campbellsville, KY.....forecast is for rain all day today and tomorrow......our days off. On Tuesday we start our 12 hour shifts which will run 5 days this week, and 5 days next week, then we are free once again. The coach is doing well, and our leveling system is working well. I have to start the DD up about every 10 days to put air back in the system, but considering how cold it has been here, it is staying aired up pretty well. We have been using our washer/dryer a lot.....the dryers in the RV Park laundry take toooo long to dry, so the Splendide is in use pretty much every day. TLE has become the Splendide expert. So glad we have it!
Clarke have you guys stayed in that area before? Dawn did some board certifications in St Petersburg last fall which is just South. I went along and hung out for a couple of days while she completed her work. We went North one day I think near where you guys are except inland and did some cave diving in the Crystal River. There is a place there called the Blue Grotto that we dove in and went like 100' down. It was weird. Most places we dive in the Caribbean have so much life. These caves are all extremely clear cold water but not much life in them.

Where are you staying on the key?
"Where are you staying on the key?"

Staying at Sunset Isle RV Resort....right next to Low Key Hideaway.
6 work days left at Amazon.com.....our last official work day ends at 5:30am on December 23rd. This week was our first week of 5 twelve hour days......today, Saturday, will be our fifth day of the 12 hour schedule. We have 5 more next week, and then we are out of here! The diesel fuel fund is replenished and we are almost back in travel mode again. We'll spend a couple of months in Florida, then begin working our way up the east coast, then eventually west to Spearfish by June 22nd.

Today, Saturday, we are emerging from the haze of our Amazon adventure. It is nice, once again, to be the master of my schedule. I no longer have to be anywhere I do not wish to be. If any of you are interested in a day by day description of our Amazon experience visit my blog at http://whatsnewell.blogspot.com. I blogged every single day since we arrived October 3rd. This Amazon thing is not for everyone, and there was a point early on when I wondered if we were collectively up to it, but we were, and along with a fattened bank account, we are in the best physical shape we have been in (and that includes all the bike riding we have done) in a year. We have lost pounds, but more importantly, inches from our waistlines. Our feet are ready for the most difficult hikes, and we have the endurance to be on our feet for 10-12 hours at a time. Our goal was to net about $8,000 over our stay here, and we actually netted closer to $9,500. Had we gotten all the overtime we were promised we would have easily exceeded $10,000 for the 11 weeks we were here. Based on our travel plans the next two years we have more than enough money to cover diesel for that time period. In just a few days we will depart Campbellsville, KY and head for Cedar Key, FL and some much needed R&R.
Congrats on fulfilling your escapade!
Today we're waiting on Habitat Restore to come clear out the rest of our "giveaways".
Closing is scheduled on the 26th at 3:30.
