Elvis has finally left the building.....we drove 23 miles to my mechanic's place of business this morning where we had two new Firestone steerer tires installed, plus the defective 8D battery replaced, then headed out for Blythe, CA about 1 pm.......we arrived in Blythe at Mayflower County Park about 4:45 pm. Everything went according to plan, and the 200 mile drive to Blythe was without incident....love the new steerer tires.....the right front old tire was out of balance the last few months, and now with the new tires it runs as smooth as silk.....no wobble at 45 mph anymore! Good to be back on the road again....we will be at Tom and Darlene's tomorrow afternoon just a few hours after they get home from Alberta.
Arrived at Tom and Darlene's March 4th about 30 minutes after they arrived.....they met us in Tom's pirate golf cart at the corner of Lookout Mountain and 227th to lead us in......this is the beginning of the .8 mile stretch of dirt road, but do not be dismayed.....it is quite smooth, and if you stay under 10 mph, there is not much dust. Having a great time visiting with Tom and Darlene, but I apparently contracted a head cold just before we left California and am now, hopefully, in the final stages of that. We've enjoyed some beautiful sunsets, and great evening meals......Tom also introduced us to the local country store.....Wells Country Store, that has a great deli.

This past Thursday Elaine and I drove into Peoria to visit our niece and her husband who took us to see a spring training game between the Rangers and Padres.....first spring training game I have ever been to.

Life is good.....if you're in the area come out and see us!
Tomorrow clarke and elaine pull out to continue their journey headed towards south dakota. the past 3 weeks have flown by and we will miss them dearly.

if anyone is in the area, be sure to stop by and visit us

We had planned to leave Wednesday morning but there is a severe wind alert all the way up to Flagstaff for Wednesday, so we are going to stay put at Tom's for one more day if he will have us.....I think he will. No point in driving in the wind if you don't have to, let alone arriving at our destination in a windstorm. Spent most the day until we got the wind alert getting ready to leave, including wiping the coach down with Firecoat.....she sure cleans up nicely!
"we are going to stay put at Tom's for one more day if he will have us"

Yeah, right!! I suspect you didn't notice that Tom chained your rear axle to the house so you couldn't leave anyway.
So the Facebook post with Tom on a tractor was actually him building a berm blocking the driveway?
I can see Tam and Darlene waving Good Bye!

Now Steve do you really think that is an accurate picture of Tom? He doesn't have blond hair. Would he wear a really bright skirt and blouse like that do you think? I always thought he was an neutral earth tone sort of guy.
yea.
If we could just solve the mystery of why one of our tires goes flat every night I would feel better about hitting the road.....Big Grin
