Steve, the '82 is holding up just fine.....we now have just over 148,000 miles on her, and she continues to run wonderfully.....barely getting broken in.
We arrived in Cape Blanco, OR on September 3rd for our two month gig as lighthouse hosts. We were in love with the location before we even got to our RV site, which has an ocean view. It's a tough job but someone has got to do it. The sunsets aren't ugly either.
I was born right up the road from you in Bandon. Have an old motorcycle racing buddy from Santa Barbara that moved there in the early 70's and still lives there. One of my favorite destinations!
Looks awesome Clarke. We miss the Hockwalds but at least we can live thru your experiences and dream of the day. Give Elaine a hug for us.
Todd, every time I see my new rear bumper I think of the Flickema's and the wonderful time we had in Sioux Falls this last time through. Looking forward to our next meetup!
We're coming to the end of our two month stay here at Cape Blanco. We have had a wonderful time here......many long walks on deserted beaches, weathering storms......had 94 mile an hour winds here last Saturday......drives up and down the coast, and have not used our A/C one time, but we do use our heater every morning. The weather was mostly dry until two weeks ago, and now we are getting rain pretty much every day. On Friday we head south and east to Sparks, NV for a few weeks, and then home for Christmas, and my youngest daughter's wedding on January 17th.

I just saw this comment...our daughter was born down the road a bit in Gold Beach when I was stationed in Brookings in the early 80's.
We departed Cape Blanco the afternoon of October 31st and arrived at Sparks Marina RV Park the next afternoon after a lovely, uneventful 500 mile drive. We are now in our 3rd week of working at the Amazon Fulfillment Center in Fernley, NV....it's about a 30 minute drive from where we are staying. This year we are working as 'stowers'.....stowers put the 'widgets' in bins so they can be picked by the 'picker' when you order your widgets online. We'll be here until approximately December 20th and then head back to our home area near Ontario, California for my daughter's wedding. The weather is getting cold here at 4,400 feet elevation, and there is snow on the mountains of the Tahoe Basin.
What happened to mid 70's?
Steve....haha! I've found out that the 70 degree ideal is tough to hold on to consistently.
