Be cautious when ordering wire off eBay or amazon. Some of the stuff being sold is copper coated aluminum which is a disaster if it ever gets wet.
OK, I have an issue with the back lighting for all my gauges. Currently, none of them light up. I see they are all daisy chained together and are controlled by a dimmer and turn on with the headlights. I also have 4 or 5 dash post lights that work perfectly and the dimmer works perfectly.
I pulled one of the lights out and powered it up and it lit up, so the bulb and socket was good. But when reinstalled it does not work. However, when I adjust the dimmer from low to high (or high to low), the voltage for the batteries drop from 12v to 8 or 9v's. Seems to me something is shorting to ground. What do you all think? Have the dimmers been issues in these rigs? I could switch the dimmers and try that, just the dash panels looks delicate.
Does anybody have a source for the dimmers?
Does anybody have a source for the sockets and bulbs for the back lighting. I tried to remove the bulb to get some and broke the bulb, so I am not sure if they are removable from the socket?
I have noticed my compressor running from 4.5 hours to 1.5. I hate leaks and went on a search to see where the new one was popping up from. If it weren't for the pit, I would not have been able to get to the source which is next to the brake protection valve. I dirtied up a good jacket vest not thinking I would spend my Sunday under the coach. Well, there it was blowing bubbles. Curious what the opinions are on replacing the brake protection valve while I am in there? I also noticed the solenoid for what I believe is the tag axle dump is leaking. Not sure where to find that part. I am lucky enough to still have excellent hearing as these two leaks were super silent in nature but enough I could pick them up. The last pic is another solenoid I need to replace if anyone has a part number.
Thanks!
I could smell exhaust fumes in the coach this summer, especially with open windows. I looked at it yesterday and couldn't see anything from the front. There are very nice thermal blankets covering the exhaust. Behind the generator is a cover with 4 screws attaching it, once removed there is excellent access. I lowered the pressure into the generator airbags which dropped the generator a couple of inches. There was a lot of soot below and under the thermal blankets. The thermal blankets are held on with safety wire, cut it off to remove the blankets which were filled with soot. I started the generator and could feel a blast of air coming from the gasket between the turbo & the exhaust flange. Five nuts are used to squeeze that metal gasket, four were finger tight. When the flange opening was welded to the pipe there was a burr that kept the gasket from completely squeezing the gasket. I filed that down and ordered the gasket and nuts from Martin Generator. My backyardigan winter camping visitor says they always replace the gasket and nuts on turbo exhaust manifolds.
Changing bay compartment lights to led. I arked one and cant find the 12 volt fuse to change, does anyone know the fuse is location.

After having both tag tires replaced after a blowout in Alabama, one of the hub covers wasn't affixed properly and took off on it's own somewhere in Virginia.
I called Kane and they do not have any, won't have any till late January at the earliest and are 900 units backordered.
Does anyone have a rear cover??? Know where I can get one? Used is fine.
Thanks!!
Our awning has never retracted it always went out but the motor hummed when trying to retract so we decided to replace the motor and found they are really expensive so I found one on ebay that had the same amount of torque for $400 but it didn't have the manual gear to manually extend and retract so i thought what the heck I'll order the ebay unit and swap heads out which was a great idea I thought well after removing the head and pulling the assembly apart I seen right of the bat what the problem was, it was the capacitor that had failed not the motor at all. So rather than make the swap of the motor I just changed out the capacitor and it works great, so with all this writing don't do what I did and spend money before you research the problem. Now I have a new spare motor.
You can see from the picture how the capacitor popped the top out.
I recently helped a friend fix one of his pocket doors, the original valve was over $200 and I found this one on amazon for $19 and it works very well. Has the same spade connectors underneath the clear plastic electrical connections. The only difference is the exhaust ports are 1/8" NPT so you need to purchase the adaptor from 1/8" to 1/4" NPT.

Hi,
I have a 2008 (1247) with the small round Hella headlights which are really dim at night. Has anyone upgraded theirs? Any idea what the bulb types are? Looking to see if there is a good LED bulb. They are so dim, I drive with the high beams on and no one even notices....
I saw a lot of information on the rectangular headlights, but haven't seen anything on the small round ones.
