I have a hydraulic hose leaking where the metal fitting is connected to the rubber. I believe it is my power steering supply line, but it's been raining for three days here so I haven't crawled under to trace yet. The leak is where the hose connects to a small box which is attached to the left rear support member right behind the rear engine access panel. The hose runs forward from the box up past the transmission but that is as far as I can see from the engine bay. There is also a hose to the fan motor and a hose to the hydraulic pump attached to the box, along with what appears to be an electrically operated valve.
My question is should I replace the entire hose or just cut some of the end off and add a pig tail to reconnect?
Variables to consider:
[ul]
[li]my coach is 26 years old, and so likely is this hose[/li]
[li]I've only had the coach 2 weeks and I am in the process of zeroing out some items, so replacing the entire hose proactively doesn't bother me if recommended.[/li]
[/ul]
I don't have much experience with hydraulic hoses, so I'm not sure what an average life expectancy is before they start failing. If it was a short and easy to get at hose I wouldn't be asking, but before I start removing and pulling a new @ 50' hose which will likely involve my full vocabulary I'd like to hear from some of you.

Hey Michael, Do you have this Newell in your database?
Hi all,
The more I look the more I find. In the attached pic there are 4 switches. Three are clearly marked, one is not. Does anyone know what the far left switch (next to the red and green lights) is for. What I do know is that if I flip the switch, a high pitched beeping alarm goes off. Only did it once cause I didn't want to blow anything up.
Thanks and Happy Thanks giving to all you gurus.
Hi all, Happy Thamksgiving! I have a 20 gal. Raritan water heater and I am wondering if anyone out there has ever used a Bi-pass kit when winterizing. If, is there an off the shelf version or did you make it? Pics would be helpful.I
Thanks so much

1980 37’ Newell Classic, looking for a new home. This is truly a one-of-a-kind fully-custom RV with a wheelchair lift. We are the third owner of this beautiful piece of Newell’s history and it has been kept indoors all of its life (when not in use). I’ve tried to cover the typical questions below. Please send private message if you have additional questions or text/call 504-258-7530.
Located in Cudjoe Key, Florida.
● MOTOR
○ Cummins 555 “triple nickel” and it runs great. 140,767 miles.
● GENERATOR
○ It has a Kohler 7.5kw propane generator. Comes with an exhaust pipe extender.
● TANKS
○ Gas tank:100 gal
○ 2 very large Propane tanks
○ Fresh water holding tank: 100 gal
○ Combined black/grey waste holding tank: 100 gal
● APPLIANCES
○ gas stove & oven, 3-way fridge, and pull-out toaster - all original and working
○ 2 Coleman Mach II Roof AC units - both work fine
● ROOF
○ The exterior is all aluminum. The interior roof is vinyl.
● TIRES
○ Steer tires replaced 11/2017, size 11r22.5 & load H Dunlop. Rear tires replaced 8/2019 Kelly.
○ Note this rig has the old “bud nut” style wheels which require counter-turn on one side of the rig. One stud was broke during the last tire change and the company refused to fix it.
○ Airbags - the tire company said they looked fine
● PAINT
○ All original and in excellent condition
● What # is it?
○ Newell didn’t start numbering coaches until after ours was made.
● Other noteworthy items
○ Everything is original except we took out the musical horn, dinette, and removed the fabric off the couch cushions to replace the covers. The previous owner replaced the vinyl floors.
○ We have lots of extra parts for various items.
○ The storage is incredible. There are so many cabinets we never filled them all, even when we were full-timing for two years.
○ Driver’s side Windshield was replaced in July 2020. There are no issues on the passenger side.
○ The interior was built for a wheelchair so that’s why you see a ramp to the front seats in the pictures. The walkways and doorways are wider than most RVs, which we think makes it feel more spacious inside. The bathroom is in the middle of the RV, with doors on both sides of the walkway to close it off. The toilet has a hand-lever instead of a foot-lever. The shower is a large shower with a curtain instead of a glass door. The bed is in the back (oriented East/West like in a van) so you can wheel the chair right up to it. The lift worked until this summer. We have all the original manuals and blueprints of the lift. We never used the lift but I’m sure it can be serviced and put in working order. Or it can be removed and fabricate a whole new entry doorway, which is what we were planning to do. The lift contorts to form the stairs.
● Items that need attention. Here is a list of the items we were planning to service/update/upgrade:
○ Motor is due for regular interval service
○ Generator is due for regular interval service
- Brakes are due for service
○ Roof is due for sealant at the seams.
○ We were planning to replace all interior lights with LED because quite a few have stopped working, but haven’t got around to it yet.
-The electric heaters were recalled so we either removed them or didn’t use. There are propane heaters as well, but we never never used them either. It has three zones of thermostat control for you to upgrade it how you want to. We haven’t really camped in cold weather, but if we need heat, we have a tiny space heater that does the trick.

Attempted to access the engine to check a few things and the right latch would not release. Suggestions on how to release the latch appreciated.

Don't think I've seen this one listed here. Couldn't find a better link. I'll leave that up to you pro internet gurus.
If I start the engine with the coach not plugged in and genset NOT running, the alternator works properly.
If I start the engine with the coached plugged into a live power pole, the alternator works properly.
If I start the engine and then start the genset, the "check alt" light comes on and no alternator charging is shown on the silverleaf unit.
Any ideas.....................................................
I have a 2015, with the Silverleaf LCD Glass Dash.
Does anyone know how to Enable/Disable each tire/wheel in the Dash display? I've been able to get to the Settings screen, but I can't figure out how to toggle a couple wheels back on?? Notice how my 2 front wheels are disabled. That was caused by me pushing the scroll knob. Tried a bunch of combinations, none of which have worked.
HELP! ;-0)
