Closed the deal and picked up our new (to us) 1992 38 footer, #300. Flew from SC to Twin Falls, I'D on Friday and started my solo journey home on Saturday. Wow, I am so impressed and pleasantly surprised. This is day 4 (2,100 miles so far) and I will finally be home tomorrow. This Newell has been awesome and it is a beast. I can't get over how well it has performed in all of varying terrains. It was really windy coming across Nebraska and Missouri yesterday but she did great. since I took the northern route and missed a lot of mountains so tomorrow may prove to be the most challenging leg of the trip as I roll between Knoxville, TN and Ashville, NC, through the Great Smokey Mountains.

Cindy is so excited to see it. Needless to say, she is a bit jealous that I got to go pick it up by myself and complete the maiden voyage without her. She is giving me a break this weekend but we are off to Myrtle Beach the following weekend.

Thanks to everyone who answered my questions and for all of the support. A special shout out to Tom, as he just spent the last hour listening to me ramble on about this trip.

Hey all , I know most of you more than likely have a garage to house your newells. I need an inexpensive idea on how to cover mine for the winter. I won't be able to move it off site.

Rv cover, which always seems to get torn.
Permanent cover ??? I'd like to spend no more than 5k on this endeavor.

Good afternoon,

Last year I replaced the original rooftop satellite antenna with a in-motion unit, the Winegard RoadTrip T4 Satellite Antenna.

It works as expected driving down the road. It works fine stationary on the front, primary tv. While the antenna is designed for two receivers... that’s where the trouble begins. Wife Not Happy trying to watch satellite TV in bedroom.

So, it’s time to ADD antenna #2... a stationary rooftop unit.

Mounting the antenna should be straight forward. Bolt it to the roof and seal up the mounts.

Entering the coach with wires is my question.

It appears to me for the original antenna wires, Newell has a hole into the front area of the coach covered by a fairing and sealant. I’ve considered using the existing access but I’d prefer to have a access point that can be used for multiple items if needed. “Items” would include satellite antenna wiring, future solar panel wires, cellular booster system, cameras, lights, the list goes on. It will be easy enough to develop a conduit network for wiring after I figure out a way to enter the coach in a waterproof way...

Any ideas, suggestions, advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
JK
(This is a revised post... I guess the original one got scrambled in the process)

Strange question.. does have anyone have one of the earlier models. I have a 67 and one battery is located in front of the passenger seat up front. Is there a second battery located on the bus? I can’t find where it would or should be. Thank you!
