I was looking at some paper work the other day and found the bill for my first and only oil change ,so far . I was charged for 36 litres of oil , the oil pan doesn't look that big ! Its an 8v92 ?
I noticed that my entry door has significant delamination of the skin of the door. I'm about to work my way into it and see if I can make a full repair here on my campsite in Florida or just do a temporary repair to get me home to Michigan without the skin taking a flier. I will document the situation and the process I use as I go along and will share it on this thread, pictures included to save words.
As a first step I want to pull off the inside skin of the door. Can any of you advise me how deal with the door latch mechanism so that I can get the inside skin removed.
Many thanks to Richard Entrekin for helping me think through the process to this point. I was really bummed by the delamination and he talked me back to my rational self so now I can get on with it.

i learned something today maybe the rest of you knew and i was left out....
i am buying a chilled water drinking fountain for the garage. i was curious if the RO system i am putting in ther garage for drinking water will be enough pressure for the drinking fountain, so i called Elkay and asked their tech support.
what they said surprised me.
Don't do it.
they said that RO water causes corrosion to the metal tubing and tank in the drinking foutain and will leach the metals into the RO water and make it fail and not have great tasting water.
i looked it up on line and that is why they use all plastic tubing for RO systems.
well, what do ya know....

Hello group,
Our '72 has 4 bags on the rear axle, 2 forward and 2 aft. Picture attached from last years brake overhaul. One of the very few records that came with the coach was a receipt for 4 new bags in 1999. The bags do not appear weathered and hold air just fine, however they are getting old and I'd like to carry a spare just in case. (we'll be going to Lexington at the end of March for "Road to the Horse")
I cannot find many markings on the bags other than that they are Firestone AirRide bags, they have the letters AY and an H and one bag has a T200 stamped on it.
Does anyone know what bags were used on this vintage coach? It sure would be nice to not have to tear it all apart just to get a part number....like just about every other system I've needed parts for
Anyone have any Newell documentation on their 70's vintage suspensions?
I'm curious what pressure was used for pressurizing the bags.
One of my summer projects will be to remove the compressor for rehab of the compartment, the wiring, the compressor and to replace the leveling valves. I just finished replacing the reservoir air tank on Tuesday.
I threw in a picture of the cast iron compressor which was from the day we bought the coach. Things are much cleaner now but I don't have a more recent picture.

My front heater fan seems to only push enough air to maybe feel it at about 12 inches from the heater.
Wondering if this is normal? My other 2 units one under the kitchen and the other in the bathroom pushes more air.

Well the toilet problem is fixed, the sequencer had come loose from the bracket and it allowed the sequencer to back off the small pipe going into the toilet. The sequencer is secured by a plastic nut to the bracket similar to a how a kitchen faucet is secured to a counter top. The bracket has an oblong hole so you can slide the sequencer closer or further away from the pipe leading into the toilet. Since the bracket is smooth plastic the plastic nut had lost its bite on the bracket and the sequencer had backed off. I glued some sand paper to the top of the bracket and tightened the nut for additional bite and then wedged some material behind the sequencer in the whole to keep forward pressure on the sequencer. Red neck engineering.
After reading about the problems Roadapples was having with his batteries I realized I had not checked the water level in mine..I checked all 6 house batteries and 2 chassis batteries and all of them were low on water. Topped all of them off.
Probably get a much longer time between charges now
Decided last minute to go with some friends to memphis this weekend.. Have a small leak in outside drive tire. I'll go by a shop in next couple of days have them pull and find the leak. Replaced the fuel filter. This is my 3 rd time to do it myself. 1st time took 3 hours. Had to go get the right tool and get the right filter. And re prime it. 2nd time took an hour and a half. Didn't have to go get filters but had to prime it. Today 15 minutes. Thanks to mike Ellis at newell for Showing me a trick when swapping it it only took 15 mins.
But on way home. My wife comes up to the drivers seat and informs me the toilet is leaking fresh water when it flushes.. So tomorrow I will try to sort out that issue.. Love having a coach. The problems just keep life interesting.

One of the reasons I bought a Newell was for my safety and the safety of my passengers. I read an article back in the 90's before I bought my '73 about the advantages of monocoque or semi-monocoque construction over frame rail. One of the reasons stressed was structural integrity.
While searching for a suitable donor for a re-power project, I came across a 2009 Holiday Rambler Endeavor, which some people consider a "luxury motorhome", that had rolled over. Since pictures are worth a thousand words, I've attached a picture to state my case.
