Forum: Newell Sightings
- No Replies

Was traveling from Tulsa to Altus and pulled up beside a beautiful black and red paint job on a newer model Newell. Gave them a thumbs up as they exited toward Texas... Spent the last day de-winterizing and fixing a couple of leaks in the water bay. The hot supply split om the hot supply to my exterior faucet and the old copper just gave way... Replaced with a compression joint and faucet adapter. I'm looking for a generator end for the old Kohler Yanmar and not having much luck. Shorting everything out and might have to put a new one in. Spoke with Bestgenman (Gordon) and he has been very helpful...This is a great group of folks here and I am so lucky to have you all as friends!

Missing the family but am glad to be back in the Newell!

1999 Newell #510
Our entry door step hits the ground sometimes after leveling the coach.
I assume its because the coach lets all corners down to the level of the lowest corner when leveling but this results in the step sometimes hitting the ground when we are parked. It happens whenever the campsite isn't really close to being level.
Has anybody else had this problem?
Any suggestions for adjustment of the coach or the step? I don't think I can raise the coach after it's been leveled with the HWH system?
Any way to keep the step in the UP position with the door open (since the coach is already close to the ground)?
Has anybody changed out their step for the drawer style step the new coaches use?
Thanks!
Jonathan Shetler

Thanks for having us.  We just moved to Ft Myers and rented our Key West home in preparation for a year or more on the road. We have a friend Tuga & Karen who had a Newell and traveled together more than a few times and really admired their machine.  We just traded our 2001 Prevost XLII for a 2003 XLII with 2 slides.  I found your thread during my search on installing a set of Lithium LFP4 batteries.  I hope I don't make a nussaince of myself.
And where is spellcheck?

Just pulled in to stretch legs south of Normal IL.
We're headed to Waveland MS for a week.
It was 14 degrees this morning, can't wait for highs near 80!

hi all,

i visited jim and gail this morning before they head out of the phoenix area and saw their newly painted coach.

i have one word for it.....Stunning.

it is beautiful.  he had the chrome and stainless polished professionally and the entire thing looks better than new.  i really like the subtle flames on the side.

the rear engine louvers on the doors are polished stainless you could shave in.

jim really knows how to do things right.

ya gotta see it to believe it

thanks jim and gail for letting me come visit you this morning.
