Well spring is here and its almost time to carry on with the 76 project.
I drove it home from missouri last summer (2300 miles) it ran very well. Easy on fuel and lots of power. It really is fun to drive, and people love it.
If anyone is interested in purchasing this coach, I can sell it as is or finish it for someone the way they want.
It is a bunk model 36ft with 90k original miles on the body, original paint. 6500 watt onan gen. It is in nice shape for its age. The tanks wer pulled and redone and all the basement metal was replaced. It is a very good start to a very nice classic with the sought after 8.3 cummins turbo diesel upgrade and the md3060 allison trans upgrade. All the hard work is done!!
I plan on bringing it into the shop next week to clean up the exterior and the interior after that.
If you are interested email me

Received a flyer by mail that #408 is for sale. Twin beds, less than 45,000 miles since new, Detroit Diesel Series 60 with propane furnaces and 20 KW Kohler generator. For more information see: http://www.newell-motor-home.com
I need to replace the vinyl on the ceiling of my 93 Newell. There are wood strips stapled to the ceiling approximately 25" apart. The vinyl is stretched over these strips, then stapled to the ceiling. It appears that I can just staple one side of the perimeter of the vinyl then pull it taut and staple the other side. I'm wondering if there is a method to assure the vinyl will stay taut. Should the vinyl be warmed or steamed prior to stretching? I'm wondering if anyone has experience with this or if there is a way to find out how it was done at the factory?
Would anyone volunteer to give a Foretravel in Yuma a good looking over, please?
Alie and I left Largo, Fl with the coach headed for Memphis. She was not feeling well and got worse during the two days it took to get there. As soon as we were parked on Thursday I insisted on a visit to the Emergency Room. During the next 24 hours she was diagnosed with cancer of the small intestine and it has spread to the liver. She had emergency surgery. We enormously lucked out by getting one of the best surgeons in the country - he is fantastic. He has told her she will be OK, but it will be a long journey of treatment. It's Tuesday now and she is making great progress. We expect to be here another week and then probably head home to Detroit.
We waited longer than we should have to get really serious treatment and that delay came close to causing really serious trouble. The lesson we learned is that if the treatment you are getting isn't working and you are feeling worse, get serious help as it may save your life.
Y'all be well and we hope to see you down the road.
I'm doing some updates to the interior, cork flooring, new carpet, reupholstering the furniture and removing the curb side couch and installing a desk. Anyone have any interest in the couch?
i just noticed my main fuel is leaking, it looks like it rusted thru from the outside where it meets the thin piece of plywood.
I removed the fuel from it today and am going to pull it tomorrow.
I will take some pics along the way and post
howdy all,
i cant check because i am not near the coach. will a 12" jackstand fit underneath on the frame at the rear and front to hold the coach up? the 22ton jackstands go from 12 to 19"
tom
One thing on the coaches I think could be better are our headlights. I am considering adding an led light bar. I was considering the roof but isn't there a law against that? If so how about on the front down by the headlights.. Has anyone considered something similar.
