2014 NEWELL COACH
KURT VANDER MEER
Hello everyone. Recently I retracted the power shades above our dinette. It was rolling up nicely when all of a sudden the shade fell back down. Now the motor just rolls up and down but the shade wont go up or down with it. Seems to just sit and spin on the roller. Any body ever experience something like this?

I am still working my way through figuring out vehicle weight capacities. With us wanting to full-time in whatever coach we buy I want to make sure that we have a well-built, adequately powered coach that will have reserve capacity to carry our stuff.
I came across an article at http://www.fmcmagazine.com/back-issues/2...heels.html that said the following:
"One more item that I need to note concerns the coach's gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR), which is 55,000 pounds. The as-tested weight of this particular coach was 54,140 pounds when weighed with a full tank of fresh water (160 gallons) and a full fuel tank (256 gallons). This left 860 pounds for passengers and cargo. In addition, the actual front and drive axle weights were right at the threshold of their ratings."
This was a 2003 45' Quad Slide. I'm curious how many Newell coaches have that small of a cargo carrying capacity or is it just due to the custom build and how the owners had it spec'd out.
Sorry in advance if this has already been beaten to death.

I was at the motorplex in ennis this weekend and saw 5 Newell's there.
Any of them newell gurus?
Looking for some suggestions for search tools when trying to find a campground.

We just acquired coach #795 (4 slide front entry) and what to know if there is a certain order used to extend or retract the slides, and if so what is the reason for the special order.

Since I've owned this 93 coach the dash heat has been pathetic, barely keeping us comfortable when it's less than 55 outside.
I changed the boost pump due to a noisy bearing - no change in heat output.
I overhauled the solenoid valve at the inlet to the pump - no change in heat output.
While finishing the solenoid overhaul I noticed that the engine coolant shutoff valve feeding the pump and solenoid didn't make nearly as many rotations before it came to a stop. I had operated this valve in the past but never noticed the small number of rotations until it came to a stop. I then could feel that the stem wasn't extended nearly as far as the other valve - can't see the stem due to location. In attempting to remove the handwheel I discovered that by tapping the bottom of the handwheel with a small hammer the valve would open a few more turns. After many iterations of this the stem appeared to match the extension of the other shutoff valves. I now have real heat.

I own coach 665 and out of complete curiosity, wondered if newell made a coach numbered 666 or if they skipped to 667?
All I know is I would not purchase it!
Does any one know?
The Poll is
Now that you are a Newell owner for awhile, if purchasing again would you
A) Choose a Newell or SOB ?
B) Choose based on the "Best Price" ?
C) Buy Only from the Factory or a Dealer for "Warranty" coverage ?
D) No matter, I just want the best looking condition ("looking" is key as we never really know what can happen when you drive off)...
