Elaine and I were heading back to Bluff, UT after a wonderful afternoon of site seeing when we decided, on a whim, to turn on to a road labeled "Gooseneck State Park". Had never heard of it, and had no idea what we were going to find at the end this short 4 mile detour. Well, we found Edwin and Lydia from Holland in their 2004 42' Newell, 2 slide, steering tag coach. He has been cruising our site for a while without registering, but I think I convinced him to join after talking with he and his wife for about an hour. They live in Holland, but fly to the USA every three months and travel in their Newell.....3 months in, and 3 months out. They leave the Newell at Newell in Miami when they are in Holland.
They are both the sweetest people, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time with them. Once again I have to say you meet the nicest people in a Newell!
Their view of the canyon is spectacular. This place is free, but limited to 14 days. They prefer dry camping. Edwin had AM Solar install 1,000 watts of solar panels on his roof, and he as been able to isolate most of his systems they do not draw continuously....only when he wants them to.
He has an on going problem with his Atlas radiator springing leaks. Newell has been covering all the issue under warranty, but it is a perplexing problem as to why the core keeps springing leaks. Newell has replaced the radiator three, or four times, but still the problems continue to crop up. Hopefully he will join the site, and some of you can offer some solutions.

Hi all,
We have a 2000 Model coach for sale on our lot. While we typically deal in MCI's, Prevost, and the like, we occasionally get a Newell in as well. I'm a newbie, as you can see, and am enjoying reading the forums learning about these vehicles.
It's a double slide coach that is in excellent condition. Current list price is $225,000, though like all things that is negotiable.
Here is the full listing.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions, [email protected].
Thanks!

Newell part #MC15248 and cost is currently $60.39 each. Four are used on a coach--1 to heater, 1 from heater, 1 to AquaHot & 1 from AquaHot. They mount on a manifold along the left frame rail back by the engine compartment. Thanks to Chappell for getting the info from Newell.
Not exactly sure what years these particular valves were used as they are no longer being used. I would guess '95 into the 2000s. Looks like I need to redo my guess from '99 into the 2000s.

I have VIN numbers which I believe to be correct for most of the 1990 and newer Newells. There are a few that are eluding me. If you know of any of these coaches and can find the actual VIN I would certainly appreciate the information. You are welcome to send me a PM with the information. If you have the information for a pre-1990 Newell, I would appreciate that information as well. Although I have a few, I don't have very many.
For 1990 and newer they will always start with 1N9 and end with the last three digits of the coach number.
I am missing the 20 digit VIN's for the following Coach #'s
214
253
268
273
274
318
381
496
500
607
634
673
706
756
1246
1472
1509
1510
1513
1514
1515
anything newer than 1516
UPDATE: I now have ALL VIN from 214 - 1518
If you have a VIN prior to 1990 OR since 1518, please let me know
Again, if you can provide the VIN for most pre-1990 Newell's, that would be very helpful.
I found a few additional VIN's when I discovered that Newell used an "X" in the 6th digit for coaches that had a length ending in 10". It makes sense but I had 'assumed' that only 0-9 were used. If there is a code used for 11", I haven't found it or guessed it yet.
I want to give a huge shout-out to all of you who have assisted in the compilation of this information.

Coach has been sitting for three weeks, went to exercise it today and the steps wouldn't retract. Anyone know where the fuse is located?

Any good suggestions for a few days before Camp Newell ????? Please

Headed back to Japan (the long way) via Europe, US, Hawaii...when I could have just taken an 9hr flight direct from Abu Dhabi...
DoD still can't figure out geography. I'm going to miss my team here at Al Dhafra Air Base but am very excited about getting home to my family. Also looking forward to our summer adventure and another Guru's Rally. My trip should take 4 days and countless re-fuelings but will be a blessing knowing the family is on the other end... I've been following the posts daily from afar and sure do look forward to seeing you guys in June!
Signing off from ADAB....UAE.

Poking around in the engine compartment I found a gauge I've never seen and didn't know it was there. It is on the back side of the hydraulic pressure controller--if I have that named wrong feel free to correct. There is no way to read it without using a flashlight & a mirror. My coach has been sitting for four months and it is above 2000 psi--maybe not working? Any one familiar with this?

they got here yesterday. great to have them.
