Hey guys,
2002 Newell series 450
Can someone explain how the air door locks with the key pad.  I found the master code for the door but don’t really understand it.
Are you supposed to to lock it with the keys as well?

my 02 had a big strange backup camera monitor in the dash.  it failed and it was heavy and broke the woodgrain plastic dash.  i had a new dash cad done and waterjet cut out of carbon fiber look thick plastic.  and a aluminum backing plate to strengthen the dash.  i did the piece that goes from left to right in 2 pieces.  i repositioned the other things in the dash to make it easier to use.  and added a usb charger plug and new 12v plug.

had to take the entire dash apart.  it is like trying to figure out the secret tunnels and rooms in the Egyptian pyramids.  my arms look like they have been whipped with a branch from being in the small places in the dash....ha

in the end i figure i had about 50 hours in it.  you ask why so much.  it took tons of time to do custom trimming.  and fitting   and heat form bending.

it turned out amazing.  darlene helped me as well and we both said we will never make another dash....ha

here are some pictures.

the new owner is here to pick it up.   more to follow on that.

I had my Foretravel washed and waxed today in the Greater Houston area by Xtreme RV Mobile Detail.   They arrived 5 minutes before their appointment time and in an hour and a half my roof and sides were sparkling.  They were very meticulous as they moved around the couch washing and then spray waxing.  Wheels, tires, chrome mirrors and my clear coated paint were shining.  So if you are in the greater Houston area. Give them a call.  I am most pleased with the result.

So I took some video a while back of rebuilding the six packs. I got busy and finally just got around to finishing up the video and getting it edited and posted.

If you need the six pack rebuild kit, visit here:

So I started noticing my 12v compressor was getting louder so I decided I wanted to replace it. I gambled a bit and decided to try a low cost 12v ultra quiet compressor from Amazon. For the price i figured it was worth the gamble. So far I am quite happy with it, the new compressor is much quieter. We will see how it does over the long term, but I figured I just might buy a spare.

We're putting our coach up for sale because I have accepted a new position with the NPS that requires us to live in a house on site. It is a beautiful and well loved coach that has a lot of updates and a well documented maintenance history. It has been a great coach for us and we have kept up on all of the necessary maintenance throughout our ownership.

Since we have owned the coach we have done a few large upgrades such as installing new General HS2 16ply tires on the tag and drive axles, replacing the original Aquahot with a new unit from John Carrillo (HeatMyRV.com), replacing the original inverter with a Victron Multiplus II 3000W inverter/charger and upgrading the Amana refrigerator with a new stainless LG French Door model.

I would like to see this coach go to someone that will continue to take good care of it. We're willing to negotiate on the price as I'd like sell it before we have to move, but if for some reason it doesn't sell, we'll be placing it on consignment with a gentleman in Phoenix.

Here is a link to a Google Docs that has more photos and walk-through videos of the entire coach:

I know Ive seen it in here before but I cant find it. Who makes the stainless hub covers? I may have messed up and need a new one for the steer. The ground was frozen when I parked it...I got it out but at the cost of a hub cover. Cheaper than a tow bill I guess.

I changed the two fuel filters, one at a time and on the 8V92TA Detroit  and filled them with diese before installing them. This is the 8th time in eight years that I have done this with no problems. Well the 9th time is an issue. Strarted the coach up. Ran for about 30 seconds perfectly, no leaks. Then it started running rough, like 1 cylinder was not contributing.  I was unable to raisse the rpm's and shut the motor down. Removed the first filter, looking for perhaps a double gasket situation, but all was good. Same with the 2nd filter. Replaced them one at a time with spare filters, filling the filters with diesel. Now the coach is still a no start. Never had to purge air. I don'tknow how to proceed. Iam avoiding cranking for long periods, trying to avoid damaging the starter with heat. Any suggestions?
