Forum: Generators
- Replies (6)

So this is a new to me coach. Generator behaved nicely when I inspected the Coach but now that it’s home, genny refuses to start. It will spin over. Fluids are fine. The solenoid to activate the fuel delivery is not engaging when I manually start it from the generator itself. What would cause this to not pull? I did find an airline that was badly kinked with a possible air leak. I will fix that tomorrow when the push connectors come in. Also the air bags look rather tired and could use a replacement. Any ideas where to source those?
Thanks guys!

So after a few weeks of being super busy I finally brought home our lovely coach. Went to notary to get paperwork notarized, then off to emissions and finally off to MVD (Third party) and finally home. I notice an air leak at the front compressor behind the grille in front of the passenger side tire. How does that grille come off? And being new, I do not have electrical hookups for this just yet. (Go figure and I am an Electrical Contractor!) Is there something that must be left powered on or should I shut things down for the time being? Weather here is going to be in the 80's for the next few weeks with no humidity.

Greetings!

I joined the Newell Guru group last spring after deciding to go with a Newell. After 15 years of Newmar ownership (DutchStar, MountainAire, KingAire) I finally saw the light! Not that I didn’t like Newmar. I loved my DutchStar and MtnAire. The KingAire just gave me fits during and after every trip. I couldn’t pull down to the end of my street without something breaking or needing adjustment. After every trip I would have two pages of punch list items - 90% on the house side.

So…we bought Coach 1664 from Newell in May and haven’t looked back. We brought the coach home to Florida then did a two week trip up to North Carolina through the OuterBanks and back. NOT A SINGLE ISSUE!

We are headed to New Hampshire and plan to spend the next three weeks up and down the east coast.

I still have lots of questions as I learn the systems on this Beast and may be posting specific questions after I spend some time bird dogging these:

- Working through learning the Intrepid System
- Typical Audio Video integration/operation challenges (starting with keeping wife happy)
- Trying to get air compressor in engine room working so I can put air in tires
- Storage with only 20amp /110v service (all I have available to me at the moment)

Thanks in advance to all the Gurus for your help!

Safe travels!

Does the 8v92 have to use the Detroit Diesel specific code reader or is there a modern day replacement to read codes off the ECU? I am looking to get a reader for good measure.

I am trying to determine which service is better. Good Sam or CoachNet. GS is $129 a year and they claim unlimited mileage towing and tire repair/replacement. CN is $249 a year and will tow to nearest facility which is useless for those of us with 2 strokers since many shops will not have the know how to work on them. CN has an optional add on for tire coverage.  What do you all recommend?

This pressure regulator on my coach is leaking (a lot). I don't know what it goes to. (Maybe front slide?) It is located on the driver's side in the basement air compartment. Does anyone know what it goes to, AND what pressure it should be set at?

Thank you,
Alan Johnson

I found the wire and plug behind the left side over driver's seat storage cabinet. No idea what it's for.

Also the box attached to the roof above.

Anyone have any ideas?

I have a 2009 with valid slides. When retracting the rear passenger slide it had a judder or shake when it was about 6 -12” from all the way in for the last 2 or 3 times. Yesterday it stopped, almost like it hit something, but on the 3rd attempt it came in. Is this a symptom of a bearing failure?

The original owner for my 2009 Newell declined the Pressure Pro option for the Silverleaf Glass dash over concern of reliability for the rear sensors.
I've always had TPMS, and am looking at the new Pressure Pro Pulse FX design which uses a blue tooth App which allows me to not have another dash monitor.
1. If I am only doing the coach 8 sensors do I need a secondary antenna?
2. The 365 rims have their own hole for the valve stem and the stem doesn't look long enough to be able to attach the sensor. I've had issues with extenders leaking. Has anyone had to deal with this issue on the 365 rim?
