Hi all,
It is time to replace my front (and rear) airbags. Is it required to remove the front wheels for the front airbags?
How about the rear wheels for the rear bags?
Brian
Hi All,
Thought I would share an upgrade I just performed on my coach slide tops which is worth a consideration.
For those of you who are lucky enough to have one of the older all white coach paint jobs this upgrade may not be advantageous. However for those coach owners who have a paint scheme that includes a dark color that extends to the slides top surface this may be a useful modification.
My coach (1223) has a paint scheme where the top half is quite dark (Dark Metallic Brown) and the lower half much lighter (Tan). This dark paint is placed on the roof area of the slide resulting in a noticeably hotter interior temperature of the slide ceilings vs. the central ceiling area which has a white roof paint applied.
Temperature readings on the slide roof last week (April 3) measured 177 degrees F and showed a 5 to 7 degree higher internal temperature when compared to the central ceiling area. After painting the top of the slides with a bright white paint the white surface read 122 degrees F and the interior surface reading reduced to a comparable temperature as the central interior ceiling a deduction of 5 to 7 degrees F.
Overall the interior temperature appears to be much more comfortable reaching a much lower temperature during the hottest portion of the day. Presently pushing over 100 F by noon.
The paint I chose was the new Rust-Oleum Universal Advanced Formula, Satin White paint and primer in one. Heard good things about it and it appears to be quite tough showing no degradation when walking on it but still cleaning up easily with alcohol. I masked off the areas where the air seals contact the slide to avoid any sticking of the seal or degradation to the rubber, see Photos attached.
I will report back on the paint once I can form a final opinion.
Best regards,
Mike
I remember seeing posts concerning temp sensor on 8v-92. I'm wanting to read temps from each head seperately. Can anyone direct me to a thread discussing this? I have tried to search with no success.
Hello All;
4 questions:
a.) What are your general impressions of FMCA?
b.) Have you been to a FMCA rally?
c.) Would you recommend joining it?
d.) Impressions on its seminars?
As my wife and I are narrowing down our choices on Newell's, was wondering about this organization, and whether or not to join.
Thank You for your input.
Tex

We will be selling our 1986 Classic. We bought an '01 Wanderlodge 43' with a slide. It's now ready to go and I don't think it will be possible to maintain them both. We got the Newell in 2017 and upgraded/repaired it to the state it's in now. When we got this Newell the plan was to get set up to take my parents to Alaska and have them cruise the coast home to B.C. We just made about 100 miles up the Alaska Hwy and my Dad said it was too much for him. So we hung out in Ft St John for a few days to see if he changed his mind and headed back south. We had zero issues with the coach.
The following have been changed out recently.
Air Bags
Water heater. (Rariton marine) Heats with electric or engine coolant.
all 3 roof airs
Batteries (2018 and 2020)
Propane furnaces
3 way fridge
Magnum Inverter
Water pumps
Brakes and wheel bearings
Interior remodel including
Toilet
Marble tile in bath
Vinyl plank flooring
Upholstery changed from pink to black. Jackknife sofa and love seat make for a huge bed in front.
Complete interior paint and wallpaper.
LED lighting
Full body paint in 2018. Stored inside since. (Was outside the summer of 2019 in Canada.)
Approx 140K miles. We used it this winter for 3 weeks, Quartzite, Yuma, and Lake Havasu. No issues.
There are pics in my gallery, and I can take pics of any part you wish.
Asking $35K which is considerably less than invested, not including many months of work. I don't think you will find a nicer one.
Coach is in our shop in Maricopa AZ. My # 306 436 7673 text is best as cell coverage is not great here. Thanks for looking, Mark
The one oddball pic is not mine. I don't know how it got there.
