Hi, my name is Jeff and I am looking to buy an older Newell and I have found a 92 Coach No#288 for sale and trying to determine the value. Checking the coach number through Newell it was last serviced in 2015, at which time it had 179,000 miles on it. However, now it has a new odometer which reads 14,000. Can anyone give me an approximate value, the coach looks in really great condition other than the generator won't start, cranks over but won't start.

Thank you,

Jeff

The last two times i've done maintenance on my 431/12 aquahot the diesel works for a couple months and then quits again. I don't use it a lot, but I do know to use it at occasionally. I change the nozzles and clean out the soot and it works fine for a short time.  The last time I did not change the filter, as it was barely used since the last time. I'm going to be full-timing for a while and I would like to have this operational.
Any ideas on this?

Hello!  Long time lurker, first time poster.  Just before Thanksgiving my wife and I wrapped up a 5,500 mile trip through South Dakota, Montana, Utah, Nevada, and Texas pulling our 5th wheel and decided we loved the lifestyle (I suspected we would as we spend months at a time on our boat) but wanted a better platform. We were familiar with various makes from visiting with owners while attending various events (we are avid motorsports fans) and had narrowed our focus to Newell and Prevost based on finish and build quality.  After looking at several coaches, we learned #1244 was coming to market.  After a brief discussion with Newell service to confirm she has been looked after (very regularly to 2018 I am told, 2 visits thereafter) and made a deposit; my father and I are scheduled to meet with a CAT mechanic (December 2006 engine) and look her over later this week.

I'm a very hands on person and turn my own wrenches on most of my toys, from changing turbos on DD12v71s to tearing down bowtie blower motors, and I fully subscribe to the theory that the very best way to learn is through the experiences of others, so I really appreciate the insights shared on this forum.

So, if you have any experiences with #1244 or insights in general beyond what has been shared in these pages, I would be in your debt if you would share them with me and I hope to meet many of you down the road.

Thank you in advance,

db

Stuck in Orlando area and coach will not come into travel.  Rear raises but front will not.

During this trip I used the inverter for a couple of overnights and it worked great.

That being said, it does not power the outlets at the dinette nor the one up font by the back of the passenger seat. They work fine on shore power and on generator.

I have been reading through as many inverter threads as i can to see how i can add those outlets to the inverter. Mainly for a laptop and USB charging. So, very low amp draw.

In my 1995 I have the inverter in the bay ahead of the wet bay (far away from water!) I didn't see any distro boxes in the bay. I do see romex going up into the floor.

Also, slightly off topic, with 6 200ah AGM batteries any idea what should the bank size be set to on a Xantrex inverter?

Thanks All!

Hey y'all, my name is Bill, I live in north central Texas about 60 miles north of Dallas, up by lake Texoma. I have been looking for an older Newell, I really like the mid to late 80s models, definitely want a Detroit pusher, I like them most of all, because they remind me of a bus, and that is the look that I want, that and the mid entry door. I have been wading through adds that pull up on google, only to find that they are years old adds, found two here in Texas, but no reply, so I assume they are not         still for sale, see pictures, anyway if anyone has a lead on one for sale, in driving condition, as I am not looking for a project, but I do want something that I can maintain into my old age, if I can find a nice one, it will be passed down to my family. We are raising our two grandsons, and they love to travel, and go camping.

I am beyond frustrated right now!!!!!!!!!!  We are trying to find a simple 30.00 seal for my load adapter pump assembly for the cooling fan.  There are no part numbers on the load adapter that we can find. I read the topic that Richard posted some time ago and hoped that the seal would be the same. We ordered the seal, paid overnight as my coach as been sitting waiting for multiple weeks for parts. The seal was wayyy too small for my load adapter.  Service at Newell says they cannot remember ever havin a seal leak on one, they've only replaced the load adapters themselves.
I reached out to Tom and he pretty much has the same load adapter as Richard. I really am scratching my head over here and my bill is just getting higher. Talk about not too happy right now.

I am in touch with Hydraquip, they "may" have tracked down the right one, I gotta pay 75 plus shipping to find out though! I'll post my results
